MY HISTORY

IN COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

I first started in construction by happenstance when a friend who owns a construction company called in a favor. It didn't take me long to fall head over heels in love with this business and the people in it. My favorite thing about working in this industry is sharing the field with some of San Antonio's best. The relationships I’ve built from working in this industry are what I cherish the most.

HISTORY

Each completed project teaches you something new

I've learned so much over my time in this business. I've lost count of all the places and projects I've touched since I got started but I haven't lost the lessons they brought with them.

2021 - Misty Contracting is Formed

Finally, after experiencing what it was like to be out on my own and feeling like I had sufficient experience and project history I decided it was time to start my own company. I'm excited to build Misty Contracting into a successful commercial development and construction company.

I hit the ground running with the Medical Professional Offices for Pak Medical Group in New Braunfels and the Boerne Executive Hanger.

This year I decided that I'd take an even bigger leap and go Independent as a Construction Manager for Developers. I felt prepared and confident that I could provide top-quality service while continuing to boost my reputation and credibility in the industry.

I oversaw the construction or completion of the "Westover Hills" Medical Professional Office Development ,the "Wild Pine" Medical / General Professional Office Development and the mixed-use "Westloop" Development

2017 - Chief Estimator | Senior Project Manager | Superintendent

After the RIM project I decided that it was time for a change so I made the move to Biltmore Construction so I could explore higher responsibilities and take on different kinds of projects. Being more on-the-ball at more stages of a development really attracted me to the position and I took the opportunity so I could expand my horizons and continue to grow in this business.

In my position here I was involved in the shell development or finish out for:

  • Alpha Diagnostics (Shell & Finish Out)
  • California Closets & Aquametrics Building
  • B&E's Produce Warehouse
  • The "University Heights" Development
  • SA Pain Clinics (Finish Out)

2013 - Chief Estimator | Vice President of Operations | Senior Project Manager

I saw an opportunity to take a giant leap forward in my career and had to go for it. That opportunity came with a large learning curve and on of the largest projects I've been apart of to date. I was confident and knew I had to go for it. After learning so much in my time at Green Mountain Construction I moved up to Chief Estimator, Vice President of Operations, and Senior Project Manager for Southwest Backhoe and Utilities. I felt prepared and confident that I could provide top-quality service while continuing to boost my reputation and credibility in the industry.

It was in my time here that I oversaw, among other projects, the Underground Utility installation for the Phase 2 Development at the RIM

2010 - Property Manager | Bookkeeper

This is where it all started for me. I was introduced into the world of commercial construction by happenstance when a friend called in a favor. It didn't take long for me to fall head over heels in love with this business and the people in it.

I started out as the in-house Property Manager and Bookkeeper for Green Mountain Construction Although I wasn't heavily involved in the construction aspect at this company I did shadow the then Vice President of Construction, and served as his assistant. I was a complete sponge and did my best to learn as much as I possibly could so that I could be of better assistance and just because I knew I wanted to grow. The project I remember most from that time was the 140,000 sqft concrete-tilt wall distrubution warehouse center for American Tire.
